School of Motion – Cinema 4D Ascent (FULL) Free Download

DESCRIPTION
Cinema 4D Ascent will teach you the fundamentals of some of the most important and marketable 3D concepts. Over the course of 12 weeks, you’ll go from beginner to intermediate level 3D artist that’s fluent in Cinema 4D and familiar with other 3D tools.

Master 3D concepts in Cinema 4D.
You know Cinema 4D. You understand the foundations, have a good grasp on the tools and basic 3D concepts. But when you look at work from top studios and artists, you know you’re just not there yet. How do you breach the gap? This class will teach you the important, fundamental 3D concepts you need to know to create beautiful renders and tackle any task a studio or client might throw at you.

EJ Hassenfratz
EJ Hassenfratz is a multi-Emmy award winning Motion Design artist & tutorial artist based out of the Mile High city of Denver, CO. EJ comes from a family of designers. Both his father and uncle were Art Directors for broadcast news stations, where EJ cut his teeth in the industry. Inspired by his wife who teaches special-needs children, he started Eyedesyn, a motion design blog to give back to the community that helped him be successful in the field of Motion Design. He’s been fortunate to work with clients like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Coca-Cola, Nike, ESPN, and the NHL’s Washington Capitals. He currently works as 3D Creative Director for the BEST motion design school on the planet (wink wink).

Meet your classmates, get comfy with the course format, and learn some cool modeling techniques and tools. You’ll also have a challenge to complete, if you’re up to it.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Basic sculpting tools in Cinema 4D.
How to use Collision and Displace deformers.
How to utilize Generator Objects like Lathe, Atom Array, and Cloth Objects to generate geometry.

Get a crash course in universal render concepts utilizing Physical Render, Redshift Render, plus Octane Render from the Octane Master himself, David Ariew. Gain a full understanding of why 3rd party rendering is the industry standard.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Universal render concepts like global illumination, ambient occlusion, samples, & more.
The importance of 3rd party renderers, and the difference between biased & unbiased rendering.
Redshift and Octane Render and how Physical Render concepts translate.

We’ll get an introduction to Redshift node materials and methods of creating 2D style renders using Redshift. You should be feeling comfortable using Redshift and building up material node trees by the end of this week.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
How Node Materials work and essential Redshift nodes.
How to use image textures to add imperfections.
How to create stylized 2D looking materials using Sketch and Toon and Redshift.

It’s time for your first Focus Week, a reprieve from new lessons to catch up on coursework. You’ll also get another visit from David Ariew, who will walk you through Octane materials.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
An overview of Octane materials such as subsurface scattering, blurs, bumps, & more.
How the material systems work.
Nodes and how they work in Octane.

Ready to dive into more advanced topics? This week we’ll be exploring how you can utilize MoGraph, Cloners, Fields, and Vertex maps in advanced ways to streamline and enhance animation workflows.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
How to utilize various Fields to enhance your animation workflow.
Vertex Maps and Freeze Layers, and how they can be used to create a variety of effects.
A deeper understanding of Mograph features like Cloners, Fields, Vertex Maps, and Effectors.

This week is all about dynamics. First you’ll take a look at Rigid Body Dynamics, animate a wicked cool Rube Goldberg Machine, and then bounce your way into Soft Body Dynamics. It’s gonna be a cool one!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Rigid and Soft Body Dynamics, what they are, and how to use them.
Spline and Hair Dynamics.
Using Dynamics with Vertex Maps and other tools.

This week is another Focus Week, giving you time to catch up if you need it. You’ll also learn about X-Particles from the talented, experienced Andy Needham.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
What X-Particles is and how/when/why to use it.
Using X-Particles for Dynamics.
Some cool, current work from motion designers using X-Particles.

This week we climb even higher into advanced animation and rigging techniques. You’ll get an introduction to IK/FK, constraints, rigging simple characters, and much more. It’s. Gonna. Be. FUN!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
IK/FK under the lens of mechanical rigging & practical mograph applications.
Rigging up a scene and animating it using mechanical IK.
How to rig a simple character that has an object attached.

You’re almost to the top of this climb. This week you’ll learn core 3D modeling concepts that, along with all of your new 3D skills and knowledge, will help you to complete an advanced animation project. This one will push you to the limits. Good luck!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Learn core 3D modeling skills that will allow you to model basic objects and characters.
How to approach posing and animating objects and characters.
Good workflow tips and things to consider for your project.

This folder includes tutorials from Week 1 to Week 8
